A Mummy's Heart Is In the Womb!

Dedicating to Mothers & Wannabe Mothers,

I'm interested in writing this as i'm getting closer to my expectant date. As a new mummy, I really can't wait to meet this biggest "GIFT" from God. I would like to share some tips with people that is interested in this topic from the experience that i've gone through during this 40 weeks period..I will some how furnish this topic part by part as I'll take time to complete this.. anyhow i'll finish it before my very own precious due.

To ladies out there, enjoy every moment of your pregnancy.. as its the most wonderful and amazing things ever can happen to you. You'll realise somehow you will start to love your mother more...and nothing really matters to you but your little one in your belly.
and as for the men, cherish and appreciate the women that willing to go through and sacrifies this with you. Only the one who love you enough will give up all the beauty and dare to face the pain to go through this FOR you. Have patients & be there for her..

1) Pre-pregnancy- plan 3 months ahead,

Health:(apply to both man & woman)
a) make sure all your immunisation (jab) like Rubella, Heppatitis A & B, TB and so..still valid.
b) Do a blood test on the immunisation plus whether u have any blood disorder like Thalasemia, Anemia or so..
c) Get enough of nutrition to boost fertility and to ensure the cells(sperms & ovums)is healthy (very important).
Nutrient that you need :

Folic - brocolli,
Iron - green leaves vege
Calcium -

Things to avoid:Coffee, tea,

2) During Pregnancy:

1st Trimester

Once you miss your period for approximately 2 weeks.. visit the gynae, ask for friends recommendation & go for the nearest for convenience and in case of SOS. Tell the gynae the 1st day u had your last menstual ( not the last day)for the calculation of a due date. You will be expecting an ultra-sound scan with a 1cm blood lump with heart beating. You have to revisit the gynae monthly until the 3rd trimester as a follow up. Doctor will prescript Multivitamins with folics or more depends on the mother condition.

By the end of this trimester, nausea will be reduced or gone. this 3rd months visit will show you the baby has turn into fetus. Approximatly 3cm - 5cm in size. You can feel the heart beat is stronger.

Emotion:weepy, extra-sensitive, vunerable ( wondering what it gonna be as a mummy),
Symptoms: Nausea, tongue taste metallic, fatique, dizzy, gum bleeding, tummy bloated (wind), craving.
Health:Eat smaller portion of food but increase in frequency - 5-6 meals a day. Cut down on meat but increase on eating fruits & vege. Take more soup as warm liquid can make your tummy soother.

Folic -
Protein - Soy
Calcium -

Things to avoid: Minty stuff (it will make your nausea worse & create wind in tummy)
minimise cooling food like cincau , water melon & pineapples (old wife's tale). Boiled herbs ( as it may contained mercury).

2nd Trimester

As you enter your 13th weeks, the morning symptom will reduce gradually..but to some lady, its just the beginning. Tummy started to show, you will fine clothing is a bit tight..try to wear some lose pants and blouse. Since in this trimester u feel pretty well.. start to shop for maternity clothes but buy in a size bigger as u & the baby will grow pretty fast. Shop for bra that is suitable to your current size just buy 2 pairs as our breast size will varies thoughout the whole pregnancy.

This is the time when u feel so excited being a mom..that u will start looking at babies stuff.. don't over indulge (which I did). List down the baby things that u need. Put up a budget on the stuff.. window shop around as baby stuff is way more expensive than u think. Example, clothing, nappies, equipment, feeding equipments.

By this trimester u should consider to enroll to some "Antenatal Class" with your spouse. Its pretty useful for 1st time parents... especially for those that doesn't enjoy reading...plus it can make your spouse realise a mother to be ancious & sacrifies.

* do not apply baby powder to your infant as recent study shows that baby powder can block babies breathing, causes athsma or pneumonia.

* Recent studies show that Animal (cow's) milk will take effect on the baby, like allergy, as animal hormones will be transfer into the baby in the womb. Therefore, I'm recomending soy drink to give you the better, safer & sufficient protein you needed. As SOY is a natural plant food
